Frequently Asked Questions

The benefits and applications of role play in training are many and varied and are not always obvious. If your question isn't answered below then please don't hesitate to get in touch and ask.

What Exactly is Role Play?

Role Play is the use of actors to portray a variety of roles for your staff or students to practise on for training purposes. In a safe learning environment, participants have the opportunity to try out new techniques and scenarios they may meet in the workplace. Role play has many applications from training your staff in dealing with challenging situations and difficult encounters to testing out new ideas or learning new skills and ways of working.

Do You Work From a Script?

Effective role play works best without scripts but with a clear and concise brief to enable a unique yet realistic experience. It is important for the scenario to be played out as naturally as possible but with our skilled actors the trainee can be kept on task and maintain consistency.  However, if you require a script for your purposes we will always ensure our team are word perfect on the day. Whether you want to devise your own scenarios or scripts, prefer us to provide them or would like to work on them in collaboration with us you can be confident that we will work with you to ensure your desired outcomes are achieved.

Why Not Use Our Own Staff?

The advantage of using role play actors is that, being unknown to the participants, a level of realism is brought to your training session so that delegates are immersed in a very authentic encounter. Undertaking role play "in house" can be an awkward experience for many people thus having a detrimental effect on the intended outcome of the training. Skilled role play actors will provide insightful and constructive feedback, something which is more difficult when the participants are known to each other.

How Many Actors Can You Provide?

Our core group of talented and versatile role play actors are able to adapt to playing people of all ages from children to the elderly, they are individuals that we can count on at any time to deliver perfect performances. However, if you were to require a greater number of actors than we keep on roll then we have several associates we can call on to boost our numbers.

What Happens Next?

After your initial contact with us, we will arrange a free consultation, either over the phone or in person. This is an opportunity for you to outline the aims of the training programme or project you are planning and what you require from us as actors. We will then get back to you with a no obligation, all inclusive quote which will cover all travel expenses, preparation and of course the role play itself. Don't worry if your plans change - we don't charge for cancellations if you give us at least one weeks notice and will try to be as flexible as possible if dates need to be moved.
